Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (ACE) Annual Meeting
Spring is definitely here in Georgia and unfortunately, this is the last week of National Nutrition Month. The last place that I had a chance to be a speaker is the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (ACE) Annual Meeting at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA "Go Dawgs!!" I had a chance to stay at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel which I enjoyed the staff and my room. I wish I had a chance to see University of Georgia mascot "UGA" the bulldog but I did see a cameo picture.
It was a pack house of conference participants during my presentation "Examining Herbal Medicine from a Functional Food Perspective". During my speech I had a chance to do a dried powder ginger tea demonstration where the audience had a chance to be a herbalist and patient for the day.
During the presentation, I was able to define herbal medicine and provide examples of how it may be used to promote health. I also use a taste of herbs flavor wheel radial from the LearningHerbs.com to show the herbs properties and application. I did add a brief description on the Integrative & Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy (IFMNT ) radial and functional nutrition therapy concepts to the presentation.
I am so happy that I had the chance to discuss about herbal medicine in front of my peer and colleagues. This month was an incredible National Nutrition Month for me, and I am so blessed to have to chance to speak about topics that genuinely love.
