DIFM Spring Leadership Retreat in Scottsdale, Arizona

I have never been to Scottsdale, Arizona before but all I heard from people to beware of the dry heat compare to the humidity in Atlanta, Georgia. When I arrive there, I was struck by the beauty of the desert land terrain and mountains. The sun rises, and the sunset was truly incredible! You may ask why am I here in Arizona? I am here to finish my last term as secretary of the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine (DIFM) Group and to assist with the new Executive Committee of DIFM to prepare for the new term year. This event is called the Spring Leadership Retreat (SLR) where the DIFM EC Board voting members strategize with the new DIFM Chair for the June 2019 term year. I am so proud of the DIFM EC Board for coming together and making a significant impact of change in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics organization. I am incredibly grateful for being DIFM Secretary for the past two years and looking forward to seeing them continue to grow in the future. My next role in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is Chair-Elect with NOBIDAN (National Organization of Black in Dietetics and Nutrition ) MIG (Member Interest Group), and I am continuing to look forward in making a positive impact in the field of nutrition and dietetics again.
